Political activist from Myanmar/Burma Aung San Suu Kyi is honored with the Community of Democracies’ Geremek Award during 7th Ministerial Conference in Ulaanbaatar.
The Ulaanbaatar Ministerial Declaration, reflecting recent developments within the Community and its plans, was adopted during the 7th Ministerial Conference.
High-level representatives of the Asian states participating in the Community of Democracies held a meeting during the 7th Ministerial Conference of the Community in Ulaanbaatar, officially launching the Asian Democracy Network.
In his closing remarks to the 7th Ministerial Conference, President of Mongolia pledged to contribute annually USD 150,000 to the operation of the Community of Democracies.
Three UN Special Rapporteurs called on the CD Participating States to make every effort to advance issues pertaining to the rights to freedom of opinion and expression, peaceful assembly, and association in all human rights arenas.
